Humanitarian Tours with District Managed Project WOD

World of Difference Humanitarian Tours is a District 9800 managed project and as such is a multi-club effort. WOD conducts tours to Cambodia and Laos to visit Rotary projects in those countries. It raises funds through tourism and other activities to provide equipment for students such as books, back packs, uniforms and bicycles during a tour. Farm animals, water filters and mosquito nets are also provided.

WOD initially targeted causes in Cambodia, but through the efforts of 2018-2020 International Committee Chair, Rob Hines, it has grown to include Laos projects and helped support the Ban Houay Tan school project. This year, complemented by a District Grant, Rotary Central Melbourne has worked with WOD to support a clean water and sanitation project in a Cambodian village. The project has to date provided 12 households with clean water and a household toilet.
